My co-worker Michelle is expecting her first child, a little girl in August. We had the best time last week picking out fabric at and a pattern at Jackman’s Fabrics here is St. Louis.
There are lots of cute kids’ quilts in this book–I see many more baby quilts in my future. Can I just quit my job and sew everyday?! How fun would that be. Besides not being able to afford it, wouldn’t appreciate my sewing time as much if I could do it all the time.
This quilt requires applique–I could do it with a machine, but I’m told it won’t hold up as well to lots of washing. So I think I will learn how to do needle turn applique. You know they say learning new skills, like quilting, keep the brain sharp. Here’s a great story from NPR just this week. Here’s to staying young through quilting!!
